PHOTOGRAPHY
My passion for photography developed well before the digital era. From a very young age I would often have a camera with me when I went places, eager to capture moments in time. I'm still reminded every day to slow down and take in the simple beauty of life as it passes through your lens.
I have used my photography skills to capture professional corporate photos for portfolio managers and other employees while at INVESCO Canada. I've also lead and directed cover photo shoots for their in-house produced publication "Fundamentals".
CARVING AND CRAFTS
I enjoy craft projects when time allows; below are just a few. I love Halloween and I'm a Christmas fanatic. Many are from my personal collection, some are gifts for family and friends.
I've also enjoyed creating Halloween gourds for corporate auction benefitting the United Way; donating 100% of the proceeds.
When I was a child, my father had a cool basement bar in our home. Being a responsible parent of three impressionable boys, he decided to dismantle the bar. I inherited some of my father's old glassware and bar accessories; so I made the decision to create a bar sign for my own basement bar to honour him. Below is the conceptual layout with a photograph of the raw wood (black maple) as it was when purchased. The second is a photo of the work in progress.
In support of the Toronto Raptors 2019 playoff run, I designed and built a sign using recycled styrofoam packaging and special tools to carve the sign. The video below is a time-lapse I created showing its construction.
